Lim's Story
In the quiet village of Chom Resh, a young woman named Pheng Lim, only 21 years old at the time, dreamed of a better life for her future family. Born into a poor household, she knew the meaning of hardship from a young age. But Lim also carried something stronger than her struggles — courage and determination.
In 2011, Lim made a life-changing decision. She joined the Life Skill Training Program of Build Your Future Today Center (BFT). The program welcomed her with open arms, offering training in mushroom farming, pig raising, and vegetable cultivation. Lim absorbed every lesson with deep curiosity. She was never afraid to work hard, and every new skill became a seed of hope planted in her life.
At this time, Lim was building a family with her husband, Mr. Sean Lo, a supportive and hardworking man two years younger than her. Together they raised their children with love and hope for the future.
As the years passed, Lim transformed her small training plots into a thriving agricultural livelihood. Her mushrooms grew fast and fresh, her pigs were healthy, and her vegetable garden began to shine with colors of green, red, and yellow. Every harvest brought food to her table and income to her family.
Lim became more than a trainee — she became a model farmer.
People from surrounding areas came to ask for her advice. She gladly shared her knowledge, teaching them the techniques she learned: how to maintain moisture for mushrooms, how to prepare natural pig feed, how to produce organic vegetables, and how to manage income from small farms.
When her family moved to La Ark village, her reputation grew. Villagers respected her skills, kindness, and willingness to teach.
Lim became a role model, especially for women, showing them that poverty is not the end — it is only the beginning of a new story if you choose to fight.
