WHAT WE DO

Our 4-year sustainable model

Our approach begins by providing essential support to villages, then gradually empowering them towards self-sufficiency, requiring only minimal support from BFT by the project’s end.

Our 4-year projects address the main challenges communities face in remote rural villages, identified through socio-economic baseline surveys.

OUR PROGRAMS

Our work operates across four interconnected pillars, recognising that lasting change requires addressing multiple challenges simultaneously:

Through WASH training, health education, and partnerships, we improve health, nutrition, hygiene, and sanitation by working to provide clean water access, developing school gardens, supporting food and supplementary feeding programs, Mother & Child Care programs, and supplying essential medicines—creating positive ripple effects across communities.

Our education work addresses multiple fronts: keeping children in school and reducing attrition rates, motivating families to prioritize education, improving facilities and teaching quality, and providing agricultural programs and clean water for health and nutrition. Through inclusive community programs, we reach out-of-school children (including preschool age) and provide adult literacy training—recognizing that sustained education creates income opportunities and builds long-term resilience for the entire community.

Through tailored business and agricultural education and seed funding, we empower families to build sustainable livelihoods that enable children’s access to education, strengthening economic resilience across generations and creating ripple effects throughout their communities..

Through our female social work team and monks trained in counselling, we address domestic violence, child protection, and addiction issues while supporting vulnerable families—creating safer, more stable communities and improving opportunities for sustainable income, with particular focus on protecting children and women.

These four pillars work together — access to clean water supports health and education; good hygiene practices improve overall community wellbeing; economic stability strengthens family peace. By addressing root causes holistically, we create the foundation for communities to thrive independently and become economically resilientClick on the map to read some of the stories of how BFT has changed the lives for the people in these villages.
